SMJ Fan for Industrial Ventilation

Founded in 1996, SMJ Fans has designed, manufactured, and commissioned hundreds of MSHA X/P permissible mine fans and non-permissible ventilation systems; most of which designed specifically to meet our customer’s requests and design criteria.

We specialize in primary and auxiliary fans from 12” diameter up to 12’ diameter, 2HP to 600HP. We offer many different configurations and options including: single or dual stage, horizontal or vertical mounted, contra-rotating, silencers, scrubber systems, starters, and crawlers.

We are pleased to have customers located throughout the world and across the United States from coal and hard rock mines, tunneling and construction contractors, to educational facilities and other industrial applications.

WOW FIU Wall of Wind

The NHERI Wall of Wind (WOW) Experimental Facility (EF) at Florida International University is a national facility that enables researchers to better understand wind effects on civil infrastructure systems and to prevent wind hazard from becoming community disasters. We are proud to have partnered with Florida International University to develop the 12 fan system capable of repeatable testing in up to 157 mph wind speeds.
